ABOUT US

UM ecoMotion is the University of Manitoba's Shell Eco-marathon team whom is dedicated to designing, building, and competing an ultra-efficient vehicle. The team consists of university students who carry out the challenging work to succeed at competition.

Now having traveled and competed in Detroit, Michigan and Sonoma, California with the WASKOTEPEYIW and our 2017-2018 vehicle respectively as our two prototype battery-electric vehicles, we now head to California again for competition in late April 2019 to test our abilities and defy the odds with our originally designed Urban Concept battery-electric vehicle.

The team's unique mission is to challenge the way we think of human mobility through the implementation of new technologies that strive to push the boundaries in vehicle efficiency. The team is passionate about minimizing the areas of energy loss in efforts to use the least amount of energy as possible. Ultimately, the team uses the best of talent to build a low-carbon future in hopes of minimizing the human impact made on Earth.

This is the story of how ecoMotion started and the lessons learned along the way. ecoMotion strives to set the bar with effective managerial practices, dynamic problem solving, and facilitating leadership growth.
